Classroom 2.0

Posted on July 1, 2008 ·Tagged , , .

I thought this would be a networking event for the members of the Classroom 2.0 social network for educators interested in Web 2.0. Instead it was a series of questions from the audience and answers from the audience about Classroom 2.0 as as concept.

A few tips I came away with:
- Teach teachers to teach themselves as a method for teacher PD
- Don’t fall in love with a tool and think how you can use it to teach—reverse that process
- Classroom 2.0 defined as a student-directed class, not teacher-directed
- Have parents sign authorization on Internet usage and media upon student enrollment

That’s it for today! I’m off to the hotel and then to sightseeing and dining. Tomorrow I’ll start with a session on technology literacy.
